  • What does The Reference Checker service do?

    The Reference Checker automates the process of requesting and chasing Reference Requests. We take the hassle out of the process allowing you to focus on your daily tasks. We send branded email Reference Requests with a link to an online form. As the form is online, it’s easy to answer on any device be it a computer, tablet or mobile wherever the Referee might be. As the Reference forms are so accessible, the completion rates are significantly higher compared to more traditional manual methods of collecting the References. Our clients see an 89% increase in the time taken to collect References, on average Reference Requests are answered in under 16 hours!

  • Is the data secure?

    The security of customer data has, and always will be, our number 1 priority. Our Hosting provider for Live Products and Services is a Tier 1 ISO who provides industry-leading security and has a long list of internationally recognised certifications and accreditation’s including: ISO 27001 for information security, ISO 9001 for quality management systems, ISO 27017 for cloud security, ISO 27018 for cloud privacy, SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3, PCI Level 1, The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) and multiple Microsoft accreditation’s plus many others.

  • Are there limits to the number of References I can request?

    No - we don’t impose any limits to the number of Reference Requests that you can send.

  • Can I change the Question Templates that we send to Referee’s?

    Yes – We have an easy-to-use Reference Question Template editor in the Portal. Clients have full control of their Templates and get to choose to use a selection of standard Templates provided in the Portal, or, they can create an unlimited number of their own bespoke Reference Question Templates. There is a wide range of question types to choose from ensuring that you’ll always be able to create a question Template to suit your needs. We offer a free set up service where we load in your existing Reference Question Templates for you.

  • Can I change the text and the look and feel of the emails that are sent to Referee’s and Job Seekers?

    Yes – We have an easy-to-use Content Management System as part of the portal. Clients have full access to the emails that are sent out of the portal enabling them to brand their email with their logo and colours as well as update the wording. We offer a free set up service where we can make any changes on your behalf.

  • Does the service do DBS checks (Formerly CRB)?

    No – we focus purely on the Reference Checking part of the onboarding process.

  • How much does it cost?

    Our pricing model is simple. It’s £40.00 per user per month with discounts offered for multiple users and also for annual payments. A user is someone who will be requesting References. If you have members of your team who need to view the status of Reference Requests, or view and download completed Reference Requests, they are treated as ‘Read only’ users and are free of charge. Drop us a line and we’d be happy to discuss your requirements and any discounts you’d qualify for.

  • How long does it take to set up?

    You’ll be up and running in just a couple of minutes. Once you sign up and verify your email address, you’re taken through a few simple set-up steps and then you’re all set to start Requesting References. We offer a free 10 min screen share to all clients to show them how the portal works, or, they can use our on screen guides to help them find their way around.

  • Does TRC integrate with my existing software?

    We have many integrations with CRM and ATS systems. Get in touch today to see if yours is one we’ve integrated with. We have a comprehensive API suite which is fully documented so new integrations couldn’t be easier.

  • Can we use our own company email address to send the
    Reference requests?

    No – All Reference Requests are sent from our central email address. The reason being is that we invest a significant amount of time and money to ensure market leading deliverability of emails, avoiding those dreaded spam filters. We have an unprecedented email reputation in the market and as such our email delivery rates are industry leading.

  • How long am I tied in for when I sign up?

    We believe in the strength of our product and once you’re using it you’ll want to stay, that’s why we operate a monthly rolling agreement. You are free to leave at any point without penalty. We don’t try to tie you into long term contracts, and we don’t have any hidden surprises. That said, we’re always happy to offer a discount for an agreed contract period. Just let us know your requirements and we’ll make it work for you.

  • Why should I sign up?

    If you’re invited to sign up, it’s because a Recruitment Team you have registered with are looking to obtain References for you. You don’t have to sign up, but if you do, you’ll be able to see the status and progress of the Reference Requests, keeping you in the loop. You’re also alerted to all activity such as Reference Requests being made, Requests being completed by Referees by email so you always in the loop.

  • How do I share a Reference with someone?

    If you have registered and used The Reference Checker to obtain your own References, then you are able to share these with any subscribing company who you choose to give permission to view your profile. If you’d like to share your References then ask the subscribing company to send you an invitation to share your profile and once you accept, they’ll be able to view the completed References which you requested.
